Ruby Country - Walking, Cycling and Riding
Ruby Country is enclosed by Dartmoor, Exmoor and the north coast of Devon and Cornwall, Through the 'Ride the Ruby Country' project you'll find linkages to to new and old recreational routes for walking, cycling and riding leisure pursuits. There is ongoing development of new Cornwall and Devon activities throughout.
There are plenty of walking , cycling and riding guides that can be downloaded (with one of the walks coming close to the entrance of Beara Lodge Glamping)..

Tarka Trail
As stated on the Tarka Trail website "The Tarka Trail is a 180 mile, figure of eight walking and cycling trail that follows the route travelled by Tarka the Otter in the famous novel by Henry Williamson. The Tarka Trail will take you through ancient villages, wooded valleys, along the banks of rivers, high over moorland with spectacular views of Dartmoor and Exmoor and along dramatic sea cliffs and vast expanses of beautiful beaches"
Pegasus Trail
Still under construction in places, this is a new walking, mountain-biking and horse-riding trail. It uses mostly quiet lanes and public bridleways. The intention is to link the Granite Way with the Ruby Way.
The waymarked trail takes you from Dartmoor National Park at Meldon through West Devon and into Ruby Country, along a dismantled railway track and into our nearby Cookworthy Forest.
